OMDE 603: Technology in Distance Education and E-Learning is a required course in the Master of Distance Education (MDE) program offered by University of Maryland University College (UMUC).

This blog will serve as a learning reflection journal where I will record my thoughts and impressions on the course.  In OMDE, we review of the history and the terminology of technology used in distance education. We also identify the basic technology building blocks of distance education hardware, networks, and software. The characteristics of asynchronous and synchronous technologies will be analyzed.  We also learn about the criteria and guidelines for selecting technologies for distance education and the future directions of technology in distance education.
